FranGulf Secures Dh5 Million for Indian Youth Injured in UAE Bus Crash
A young Indian man critically injured in a 2019 bus crash near Al Rashidiya Metro Station, Dubai, has been awarded Dh5 million in compensation, a record victory for Asians in UAE motor accident claims, secured by FranGulf Advocates & Legal Consultants.
Muhammad Baig Mirza, then 20, suffered 50% permanent brain damage along with injuries to his skull, lungs, arms and legs when an overspeeding Omani bus driver struck a height barrier, killing 17 passengers. An initial Insurance Authority award of Dh1 million was challenged by FranGulf’s legal team and successfully raised to Dh5 million at the Dubai Court of First Instance, a ruling the insurance company twice attempted to overturn at the Supreme Court, and twice failed.
Senior Consultant Easa Anees remarked that the compensation would help the family recover from a life-altering tragedy and fund the ongoing treatment Mirza requires.
